Practical Wisdom for a Better World: How to talk with rather than past each other

Webinar with Authors Diana Smith and Jeff Wetzler

Action Design is hosting a conversation with Diana Smith and Jeff Wetzler. Join us to explore the ideas, stories and tactics in their forthcoming books.

  • From Action Design co-founder and Partner, Diana Smith – Remaking The Space Between Us: How Citizens Can Work Together To Build A Better Future For All. The essays in this book empower people to work across divides to build a better future for all, not some. Diana originated the “Leading Through Relationships” approach to show how relationships affect the growth of people and organizations. Diana brings her lens to our national dysfunction, highlighting what each of us can do (and what many are already doing) to remake relationships within and across groups, so we can work alongside, not against one another.
  • From Action Design Institute former associate faculty member, Jeff Wetzler – Ask: Tap Into The Hidden Wisdom of People Around You For Unexpected Breakthroughs In Leadership and Life. This book exposes what we too often fail to learn from those around us and introduces the Ask Approach – a concrete method for tapping into others’ genius in order to make smarter decisions, find more creative solutions, and build deeper connections. Following his work with Action Design and at Monitor, Jeff spent a decade as Chief Learning Officer of Teach For America before co-founding Transcend, where he is currently co-CEO. Jeff’s book includes reflections from his own leadership, including how his lessons (sometimes learned the hard way!) have informed his approach.

We hope you’ll join us to celebrate, hear about the impact of our work, reconnect with old friends and colleagues, and most importantly, reflect together on how we can each grow and apply our practice in vital ways.
