Creating Productive Conversations II
Advanced Practice for Action Design alumni

Three-day program
Next available date: September 21-24, 2008

Focus of This Program

Since 1993 Action Design has been offering professional development programs for leaders, change agents, educators, and consultants who work to make groups and organizations more effective. Each year we have a number of repeat participants--people who found their initial experience useful and who want to deepen their learning and enhance their skill. Developing the skill to create productive conversation on tough issues requires high qualilty practice over time. This program is designed to meet that need.

Who Should Attend

This program is for past participants who want an opportunity for intensive practice. Attendance in this program presumes you are familiar with the basic concepts and the process of working on cases.

What You Will Do

The three days will be devoted to personal case work in small groups (no more than nine participants per group) with a senior faculty person. Each participant will have an opportunity to work on his or her case situation. We will analyze the case conversations, design new approaches, and role play with video feedback.

What You Will Gain

  • Deepen your understanding of what is going on in situations you find challenging
  • Practice specific ways of re-framing and acting that are at your learning edge
  • Improve your ability to help others
In addition, this workshop provides a unique opportunity to network with other committed learners and to share what has worked and not worked--whether as a leader, manager, coach, or consultant--as you have applied the principles and skills of the mutual action model in your work.

If You Have a Colleague New to Action Design
